Money raised for charities : £106,000

On Saturday 18th October 2008 Cheddar Male Choir appeared along with 17 other Choirs participating in the 2008 Festival of Male Choirs at the Royal Albert Hall.  This was a challenging concert and was a most enjoyable and auspicious occasion.

Future plans for 2009 include taking part in a Competition in Bournemouth and a Tour of Tuscany.

Most of the original singers are still with the choir which has now increased in size to nearly 70 voices from the North Somerset area. Our youngest member is 39, and our oldest is 86 and both sing in the Baritone section. We have 7 Octogenarians. As it gained members the choir had to move to other venues for rehearsals. New members are most welcome, as are supporters and visitors to the area of Cheddar. We rehearse most Tuesday evenings at 7:30pm at Draycott Memorial Hall.

Our accompanist Elaine Smith has recently joined us following her move to the area.  She has very quickly gelled with the Musical Team and choristers alike.  She follows in the footsteps of her namesake Janine Smith who has moved to the Isle of Wight.

Whilst we always aim to entertain, one of our prime motives is to raise funds for charities and good causes. To date we have helped to raise in excess of £106,000.

Recently the Choir has recorded our fourth CD called 'TAKE ME HOME' , which features 19 tracks.
